Ulaanbaatar → Baga Gazriin Chuluu → Tsagaan Suvarga → Yolyn Am → Khongor Els → Wilderness Camp → Ongi → Northern Steppe → Ulaanbaatar

Itinerary

Day 1 — Ulaanbaatar → Baga Gazriin Chuluu

Distance: Approx. 250 km  /  Overnight: Ger camp

  • Leave Ulaanbaatar
  • Open steppe riding
  • Granite formations of Baga Gazriin Chuluu
  • First major off-road section

Day 2 — Baga Gazriin Chuluu → Tsagaan Suvarga

Distance: Approx. 200–250 km  /  Overnight: Ger camp

  • Remote steppe and gravel tracks
  • Tsagaan Suvarga's dramatic white cliffs
  • Desert landscape begins to appear

Day 3 — Tsagaan Suvarga → Yolyn Am

Distance: Approx. 230–250 km  /  Overnight: Ger camp

  • Ride deeper into the Gobi
  • Rocky desert terrain
  • Gurvan Saikhan mountains
  • Yolyn Am gorge

Day 4 — Yolyn Am → Khongor Els

Distance: Approx. 200–220 km  /  Overnight: Ger camp

  • Mountain and desert riding
  • Remote dirt tracks
  • Arrival at Khongor Sand Dunes
  • Sunset over the dunes

Day 5 — Khongor Els Exploration → Wilderness Camp

Distance: Approx. 50–70 km  /  Overnight: Wild camping

  • Morning exploration around Khongor Els
  • Sand and desert riding
  • Remote tracks away from tourist areas
  • Ride toward a wilderness campsite
  • Camp under the open Gobi sky

Day 6 — Wilderness Camp → Ongi

Distance: Approx. 230–250 km  /  Overnight: Ger camp / local accommodation

  • Long remote riding day
  • Desert tracks and saxaul country
  • Ongi River valley
  • Ongi Monastery ruins

Day 7 — Ongi → Northern Steppe

Distance: Approx. 180–220 km  /  Overnight: Ger camp

  • Gradually leave the Gobi
  • Changing desert-to-steppe landscape
  • Long scenic dirt-road riding
  • Remote countryside

Day 8 — Northern Steppe → Ulaanbaatar

Distance: Approx. 180–220 km  /  Overnight: Tour ends in Ulaanbaatar

  • Final steppe riding
  • Return toward Ulaanbaatar
  • Farewell meal
  • Tour ends in the capital
